Who this is about

CruiseApp is a personal cruise-tracking app. This policy covers the account and travel data you give us when you use it - your name, email, cruise history, cabin details, loyalty program numbers, casino session logs, photos, and messages to other CruiseApp users.

What we collect

• Account details - name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password).
• Cruise & travel data - ships, sail dates, ports, cabin numbers, and loyalty program membership numbers/points you add or that we look up on your behalf.
• Casino session data - if you use the casino tracker: bankroll, sessions, wins/losses, and estimated loyalty points.
• Photos - uploaded via the gallery/cabin review features, stored in Google Drive. Photos may carry EXIF location/time data from your camera or phone.
• Messages - 1-to-1 chat messages you send to other CruiseApp users you're connected with.
• Usage data - which pages/features you use, to help us understand what's actually useful and fix what isn't.
• Push notification details - if you enable notifications, your device's push subscription endpoint.

Why we collect it

To provide the features you're using it for - building and displaying your itineraries, tracking your loyalty status, remembering your cabin and casino history, and letting you message fellow travelers. We also use aggregate, non-identifying usage data to decide what to build or fix next.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. A few outside services help the app work, and each only sees what it needs to do its job:

• Google - photo storage (Google Drive) and, if you use Google login features, authentication.
• Google Gemini / Anthropic Claude - AI itinerary lookups, cabin reviews, and port guides. These send limited trip details (ship, dates, port names) to generate results - never your password, payment details, or messages.
• Our email provider - sending password reset and account verification emails.
• Travelpayouts / affiliate partners - only if you click through to a booking/excursion link from the app.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists, so your travel history stays available to you. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll remove your personal data within one month, except where we're required to keep something for legal reasons.

Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, to:

• See a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct anything that's wrong
• Delete your account and personal data
• Get a copy of your data in a portable format

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including securely hashing passwords and restricting who can access the underlying systems. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to keep this as safe as we reasonably can.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
